9 - Photoshop – Term 01 2017 - Me@theMovies Evaluation:
Discuss your feelings about the task:
·
Did you enjoy the task?
Yes, I enjoyed the task because it involved challenges for
me to overcome, like the one with the changing of the eye color, I used that
trick with Ali’s shirt on my assignment, I changed her white shirt to yellow
and her white shoes. It was fun to work with my friends and it was like funny
when either of us would do a mistake like blur the eyes too much. Overall the
experience with Photoshop is much better than Animation-ish. It was like
testing my ability to change something I did on paper to 3D, and it worked like
I wanted it to.
·
How do you think you performed in class overall during the
task?
I think I was good because, I had everything done, looking
at a lot of tutorials and figuring my way through, I didn’t ask as many
questions in class but, that's because all my answers were answered through the
tutorials. I think My time management was good because I had finished all my
Photoshop by Friday and ready to go on Monday everything prepared.
·
Did you regularly maintain your blog?
Yes, because it contained all the weeks required and even
more. I enjoyed doing the blogs it was like a journal and you just add what
your up to, so that's what got me up to date. Every week I would add a new
blog, in regarding to the new skills I learned through out Photoshop and I also
wrote about the many things I had difficulty with.
·
Did you work effectively at home?
Yes, because half of my Photoshop was done at home and most
of my blogs, I had finished this in the ten minutes slot I had allocated for
Media homework. This kept me up to date with my blogs, not only that time slot,
but on the weekends when I got bored I just did a few adjustments to my
Photoshop. Each time I would come up with a new idea I would write it down.
·
Are you satisfied with the final result?
Yes, because it provided the thought and detail I had worked
for almost 10 weeks, I had made it exactly to my expectation. It wasn't easy
but I am satisfied with the result of my Photoshop work.
·
Does the completed image look like you imagined?
Yes, because it had all the aspects that I drew on my rough
sketch that I wanted to cover. The rough sketch is on my blog, I had posted it
there to remind me of how I wanted it, but now I look back and it is way better
than the rough sketch. I didn’t seem to have the costume right though, because
I wanted it to be a dress.
·
Would like to change any aspects of your image?
Yes, I would change the posses because they should be
identical posses because they are sisters and maybe the same costume. And also
put some other or different shadow creatures, because I used two types, and
maybe different types would have more different type of image maybe like a
villain group.
·
If you could start the project again what would you do
differently?
I would have
orange and blue long dresses, because they would show more effective appearance
of a guardian.
·
Are you pleased with the progress you have made in using
Photoshop?
Yes, because
I started of knowing nothing and starting school late. Know if anyone needed
any type of help I would be 75% sure of my way around Photoshop, and would be
able to help anyone new who started, telling them the basics, I am confident of
this. I had many problems but they can be solved watching the tutorials in
blackboard.
Respond to each of the following dot points (using complete
sentences or paragraphs). You should include as much detail as possible in your
responses.
·
Describe any problems or difficulties you encountered during
the creation and editing of your avatar. These may include; technical
difficulties, corrupt or missing files, difficulty with Photoshop tools etc.
Yes, I encountered many
problems such as how to color the shirt, because the brush tool would keep disappearing
which meant more time on finding the lost tools. I lost a couple of files at
the start, but because it was at the start it meant I could do it again, fix it
and it was simple. I fixed the problem by actually telling my friend to save it
for me for the first couple of times. The one main problem I had was with the
green screen, I took my picture but it still had the green highlight kind of
showing in my hair, so I just used it and just colored my hair back in black using
command+u.
·
Did you undertake any additional Photoshop tutorials to help
with your project? If so what new skills/techniques did you learn? List any
skills, techniques or tricks you have discovered yourself during the project.
I did, I started surfing around
on the internet to find solutions to my problems on the internet such as how to
make superpowers like light in hands, and that's how I got the super powers.
·
Explain how your planning (movie genre research, movie title
and short story idea, tag lines, character profiles, ideas and reflections) helped
to create your final poster in Photoshop.
So, I knew I
had moon and sun to work with, that's what my friend put me up as a challenge. So
I also knew I needed action or mystery, so I got myself guardians and villains,
I gave them super powers. I knew it had to be mystical so the place I decided
was in a dark forest. So I thought these guardians had to be special, so on the
poster to show what they did, I gave them superpowers. And the sun and moon
above to help with the meaning.
·
Identify any time-management issues you may have encountered
during the process and describe the steps you could implement next task to
improve in this area (E.g. Did you complete all the research needed? Did you
use all your class time effectively? Did you work on the poster and blog
outside of class time? Did you pay equal attention to the written part (blog)
and the practical part (Photoshop)? How might you look to improve on these
efforts next term?
In my class time I had mainly
done important aspects of my poster like green screen or background. I also did
my main blogs or most blogs in my class time. I used 95% of my time for my poster
and the other looking at previous posters on the internet. I completed all my
main research in week 4, and drew a rough sketch around week 6.I got the
overview of my poster in week 7. I think I used my time effectively and if I could
improve it would be in understanding what I want, most of the time in week 4, I
got the idea bu I just questioned myself, which led to losing time.
·
Discuss whether you undertook sufficient reflection throughout
your project on your blog.
o
Have you provided enough evidence to support your work?
·
I think I did most of it but maybe I needed 20 % more detail
in my blog now that I go back and look at them.
o
Is there evidence of early skill development in Photoshop?
·
Yes, because I had worked with other app, e.g. for creating advertisements
in the restaurants that I worked in, I mainly worked with the manager, I had
been introduced to Photoshop but in Media Arts I improved in my understanding.
o
Is there evidence of research and idea generation?
·
Yes, in my blogs and in my book which I started putting random
words that came in my mind and then I started generating the ideas and improved
them and then chose the best out of them. Rough sketches are on my blog as
proof of the idea generations.
o
Is it organised under
relevant headings?
·
No, I think I could have maybe done the headings as weeks,
now that I go back to Mr. Powels comments on the blog, I remembered earlier but
forgot or at least I didn't understand, I thought he meant adding them on the
blog not the heading.
o
Look honestly at your blog. Does it reflect a full 10 term
of work?
·
I think out of 100%, I think it is 80%. Why? Because I think
my blog is up to date and some extra blog entries, and that there is a whole
range of topics on the blog that I have learned over this term.
